ADA Accessibility

VCU Parking and Transportation strives to ensure our parking facilities are accessible to all. ADA Accessible parking is available on both the Monroe and MCV campuses at our visitor decks, parking lots and permit-controlled facilities. These spaces can be identified by their blue/white pavement striping and signage displaying the international symbol of accessibility.

Visitor Parking

Visitors who hold a state-issued disabled parking placard are eligible to park in any ADA-designated space in any of our visitor parking facilities. A complete list of our visitor facilities can be found on our Visitor Parking Locations page. Please note, a disabled parking placard cannot be used in lieu of a VCU parking permit or in place of payment at any of our pay-by-day facilities.

Subscriber Permits

All subscribers parking in accessible spaces in controlled lots/decks must display both a valid university parking permit for their assigned lot or deck and a disabled parking placard or license plate, issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or equivalent office for the state in which the car is registered, indicating that the driver is permitted to park in an accessible space.

Any member of the VCU community seeking additional accommodations for parking or transportation related to a permanent or temporary disability must submit documentation of a disability to the appropriate office.  This documentation, as well as relevant registration forms, will be considered to determine if a request constitutes a reasonable accommodation.

Students on the Monroe Park Campus seeking such accommodations should contact Student Accessibility and Educational Opportunity (SAEO) at saeo@vcu.edu. Students on the MCV campus should contact the Division of Academic Success at acadsuccess@vcu.edu. All faculty/staff should contact the ADA Coordinator. To contact the ADA Coordinator via email: ADAservices@vcu.edu; Phone: 804-828-8532; Address: 1001 Grove Avenue, Richmond, Virginia 23284.  An individual can also initiate the accommodation process by filling out the Accessibility Concern Form.

To assist subscribers with accessibility, VCU's RamRide and RamSafe buses are also ADA compliant should you need to navigate to and from both VCU campuses. More information about RamRide, including schedules, can be found at the RamRide page.
